The Venue The National Botanic Garden of Wales
The National Botanic Gardens of Wales, like the Eden Project in Cornwall, are the UK’s first national botanical gardens for over 200 years and with support of the Millennium Commission opened in May 2000. The gardens are located in the grounds of the original Middleton estate and although the great house is no longer standing there a great amount to see and do.

The main attraction is the great glasshouse designed by Sir Norman Foster with its Mediterranean temperate climate. Also within the 100 acres of land there are double walled gardens, rolling walks, lakes, an organic farm and animals…..there is plenty to explore.
For more information see their website at www.gardenofwales.org.uk
There is a courtyard with a marquee where most of the day will unfold (near 23&24 in the site map), although we hope to get married outside in the grounds if the weather permits. If it does not, we will hold the ceremony in the glasshouse.
There is so much to do and see at the gardens that we’ve included some time during the day to relax, wonder and have a look around. You’ll have free access to the gardens from 10am on the day of the wedding so you could even come early! And when the public leave at 6pm the whole grounds will be ours to wander freely. There is a canteen on site for refreshments should you need anything before we begin. Most of the action will take place in the marquee courtyard so if all else fails head there for an update to the days schedule.
