Our Wedding
Date of Wedding: Saturday 2nd September 2006 Venue: National Botanic Gardens of Wales Time: 2.30pm
It is obvious that our wedding, much like Jordan's and Peter Andre's earlier this year, is not going to be a low-key affair. Here is a sneak preview of the publicity we are expecting, as you can see, they have already started speculating on what dress I will be wearing! Paparazzi will have their own agenda, I am sure, but please do not sell any kiss-and-tell stories on us for under £100,000.
As you will have already seen from our invites, our wedding day is not going to be very conventional, so don't come with any expectations or pre-conceptions and we are sure you will have an excellent day.
The whole day will unfold at the Botanic Gardens, with our ceremony to be held outside in the grounds if the weather is good (don't worry, we have a contingency plan if it does rain)! We strongly suggest you bring sunglasses and an umbrella with you! There is a marquee in the grounds where our welcome drinks and evening reception will be held, with our wedding breakfast served at 6pm. Our evening entertainment will commence at 8.30pm, but we are not telling you what is planned (Needless to say, however, there will be the obligatory disco for those who like to "swing their pants").

Tilly Mulryan
WHO TO LOOK OUT FOR Watch out for these two gorgeous stars of our wedding who are bound to steal the limelight....they are Mel's two God-daughters, Isobel and Tilly, and they are going to be Mel's Flower Girls on the big day. Isobel will be 2 years and 3 months old by then, and Tilly will be 1 year and 3 months old. Thank you to their parents, Dee and Stephen (Mel's Cousins) and Kate and Ant (Mel's sister/ brother-in-law) for being brave enough to let them loose on the day! They will be wearing Flower Girl dresses especially designed and made by Pat (John's Mum), which I am sure won't stay clean for long!
PHOTOGRAPHS We have hired an official photographer, Daniel Merrick www.danielmerrickphotography.co.uk to take our official photographs, but we hope you bring along your camera's too as we would like some extra photographs of the day. John is hoping to set up a lap-top so you can actually down-load your pictures at the reception or at the lunch on Sunday to fill our album. So, if you are a budding "David Bailey", surprise us!
VIDEO An old friend of Mel's Dad's, John Sherrington, who is a professional wedding video specialist, has kindly agreed to video our wedding at a fraction of his going rate as a favour to Mel and in respect of his old mate, Terry. John will be coming to Wales all the way from Surrey, so make sure he gets a drink! Do say hello to John on the day - you won't miss him, as he is about 7ft tall (and will be carrying a video camera)! Thanks so much John, we are over-the-moon that you will be joining us on our day to take footage to sell on to some top TV company! www.sherringtonvideo.co.uk
CONFETTI OR NO CONFETTI? Nothing about our wedding day is straightforward or conventional. You know when you go to most weddings nowadays, they insist on using only non-artificial confetti so that it is bio-degradable....well, not us! Because we are getting wed amongst the flora and fauna of the Botanical Gardens, we are only allowed to use artificial confetti, because real petal confetti could potentially carry harmful bacteria............. well, should save you a few pennies anyway!
We have a lot of people to thank for helping and supporting us through our wedding preparations and on the day. A big THANK YOU to all of you! Pat for making the dresses and lots of other things Carol for continuous support in every way, as well as dealing with the Gift Lists and RSVP's Ian and Connor for agreeing to be John's Best Men Isobel and Tilly (and their parents) for agreeing to be Mel's Flower Girls Steve for standing in as Father of the Bride and giving Mel away Anthony for designing and printing all of our fantastic wedding stationery Ellen, Frannie, Rosie, Autie Betty, Annie, Hilary, Kate and Lucy for agreeing to do readings on the day Naomi and Geoff for agreeing to take charge of the ceremony Cousin Dee and Janey for helping to organise Mel's Hen night John Sherrington for agreeing to do the wedding video Liz and Ian for sourcing all the wine and fizzy stuff for us to enjoy on the day
